White Dwarf Stars

My Blog is about stars. I will teach you what stars really are and how a group of scientist took a dying star and gave it new life in a lab. Have you ever wondered what those white things in the sky are? Those are stars. There are many different types of stars. Today we will be talking about "White Dwarf" stars. These are ancient stars that have burned up all their nuclear fuel. A group of scientist from The University of Texas at Austin went too Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They took a "White Dwarf" star and inserted hydrogen with a tool called the Sandia's Z Machine. This machine generates more powerful electrical pulses then any other one in the world! Professor Winget has done more than 30 simulations, we can now easily figure out the ages of these stars.

I chose this topic of stars because I thought they were interesting. They seem really cool so i wanted to learn more. In years to come, we will be able to identify the ages of these stars witch is a major break through. The article I got my information from was very easy on the eye and I hope mine is too!
